About the Artist

Hannah is a mixed media artist who specialises in painting with acrylic. Informed equally by her textiles practice where fabric and stitch are thoughtfully chosen and incorporated to reflect a feeling of comfort, she creates vivid and striking artworks using an array of materials and techniques. Through a considered and intentional colour palette, Hannah explores a sense of nostalgia with her depictions of real-life imagery, featuring familiar and comforting places and scenery which are brought to life by her expressive brush strokes. Memory is at the core of Hannah’s practice; she investigates how our memories can warp and develop by maintaining a playful and experimental approach, using varying surfaces such as wood and canvas as a foundation to convey this idea. Artworks of many mediums all share a grounding theme of emotional connection, investigating how we may attach and associate our experiences with particular colours. This shines through at the forefront of her mixed-media response.
